It’s been a week…

… so here’s your obligatory short entry to keep myself from getting nudged.

Looking for a job, sent out my resume to a few places, put it on Monster.com, where, so far, only recruiters have noticed it, and I’m not too keen on that. I’d like to have control where I’m applying.

Still playing WoW. Got my Druid up to 50 so far, getting close to 51. Started a Mage on ‘s server.

Got Black Mage to 75 in FFXI, but I’m still lacking in the gear department. *Sigh* Will I ever get an Igqira Weskit? Next is leveling MNK to 18, as a sub-job for WAR, which is going to 37 as a full sub. Then after that is probably SMN to 37… and in the meantime I keep funneling my Miratete’s Memoirs into THF to get it to 37 without actually exping on it. This is mostly in preparation for taking DRK to 75, but I’m still not sure that’s the next job I want to take up. The Lure of BRD is too tempting. (I got it to 38 and it looks like the most expensive purchases I’d need to make are at 40, and it’s all just cruising along until the 70s… if only it didn’t take so many equipment slots for the instruments.)

  1. Come Tussle some

I current have a 48 paladin, 60 rogue, 35 warlock and various other characters. I play on Tichondrius, the most populated West coast server, Horde DOMINATED, and is where all the Blizz devs play. We have a couple blizz customer service reps in our guild. Tussle. Until you get to 60, might be stuck in Scuffle. We do full runs on MC (3rd time was this week) every tuesday. We have attempted Blackwing Lair 1st boss a couple times. We are finishing a full ZG run right now.

You’ll find you’ll get recruiters EXCLUSIVELY from monster.com or dice.com. Techiegold is also very popular. Might want to get benchmarked because recruiters don’t believe resumes, they just mill interviews and employers often just cancel before speaking to you. Takes about 2-4 weeks to start getting serious inquiries. Good luck in your job search.

P.S. Internet cafes are all over in Orange County. The best is next to the Target on the 57 at Yorba Linda. My number is 714 457 8400 and I currently reside in the apartments nearby.

  2. For some reason, since I interviewed with Google, I’ve been getting a fair number of random people e-mailing about positions, mainly in Java web development, all from people who apparently found the resume on my webpage through Google. Some are recruiters, some aren’t. I can forward some your way if you’re interested.
