A load off.

As I’ve mentioned before, we’ve been looking for a new roommate ever since bigdumbthing got laid off and decided to finish his education. Well, last night desslok agreed to move in starting in July. So Leon and I have to shoulder the rent by ourselves, but there’s a definite light at the end of the tunnel. And we don’t have to room with a total stranger!

I just have to comment on the Dante’s Inferno test. I’ve been doing this LiveJournal thing for a while now, and I have never seen a meme propagate that quickly. And the rumors that it installs spyware is not true… at least it wasn’t for me, and I was using the unwise browser/os combination of IE on Windows.

So, I supposedly got the loan last week, but the admin said she mailed the letter on Friday, and I haven’t gotten it yet. Grumble grumble grumble.

hamstergal refuses to ever show up on my list of users with similar interests, but bigdumbthing seems to have edited his interests quite a bit since I last looked. I think he was copying off of my test or something, because he all of a sudden shot to number one by a significant margin.

Lastly, this new iTunes is sort of cool, I’ve already noticed two other shared libraries on the network… whee.

  1. it’s the highest form of flattery!

Well, I was inspired to update by your post about your interests; interestingly hamstergal doesn’t show up in my list of peoples. I did look at the stuff you put into it for ideas, but I also added a lot of stuff on my own. Don’t act all shocked though, I mean we *do* share the same interests to a disturbingly large extent.

  2. new roommate for j00 guys!

Good that y’finally found someone to take that room! And you know you & bigdumbthing are destined for each other! If not this life then maybe in another life!

        1. Though we can never say it was from lack of trying. 😛

          It’s gotta be a bug or something…

Maybe it thinks we’re so similar we couldn’t possibly be two different people?

Well, I do know the whole interest matching system was not written that well, just as a lark by one of the programmers or something like that.

          1. We’re just two halves of a bicoastal schitzophrenic. That must be the answer.

I don’t know about the program itself (haven’t looked at the code, and even if I did, I still wouldn’t understand it. Ah, the joys of computer tech ignorance….) but it does seem oddly done. Perhaps the “weird-interest” variable throws it. *shrug*

  3. The Dante’s test, here’s why I think it exploded
    – pretty colours
    – lots of info
    – an actual decent test (most that I start I can’t stand to finish)
    – everyone likes to talk about how “evil” they are
    – Dante’s Inferno is inherently cool
