Okay, so yeah… almost a month let’s see if I can remember all the little things I kept thinking I’d blog, but then never got around to doing.<\/p>\n
So where we last left off, our Karazhan group had just beaten the Maiden of Virtue. We’ve gone strong since then, since then beating the Wizard of Oz opera event the first time we tried, the Big Bad Wolf on our second week, the Curator, and have currently tried Illhoof and Shade of Aran once each and not succeeded yet. (And of course, Chess loot.) I’ve received a few more epics, and almost reached Revered with Violet Eye. I’ve also got 4 of my 5 heroic keys and just a bit short on the last one, and we’re starting to run those.<\/p>\n
In FFXI I spent my first merit points in a long time, I’ve finally got Burst II. It seems like the group I was doing assaults with on Mondays and Fridays just sort of fell apart, as half of them are just not on when I am anymore…<\/p>\n
I’ve been playing Twilight Princess again, man is that game good.<\/p>\n
I bought Yoshi’s Island DS, and it’s bugging me, as they redid almost all of the graphics and sounds from the original — a game which is very near the top of my best games of all time list — so everything seems a bit off to me.<\/lj-cut text=\"Game stuff\"><\/p>\n
My contract is nearing an end, and the wheels are in motion for the next step. At the advice of my long-time coworker who is now a recruiter for Yahoo!, I reworked my resume significantly, and have started looking at other positions within Yahoo!, as well as another option which I probably shouldn’t talk about yet. Our department also moved recently, into a new building across the street from the old, right up against Great America. We’re on the second floor, which, because of the sloping design of the building, is the largest. I’m pretty much in the middle of one of the largest expanses of cubicles (mostly empty) that I’ve ever seen in a Yahoo! building. In fact, I get a vibe of the old building at 3400, the first one I ever worked in, and the second-largest expanse of pure cubicleness I’ve seen. This vibe is further enforced by the pitifully small mini-cafeteria we have here.<\/lj-cut text=\"Work stuff\"><\/p>\n
I’ve been seriously thinking this may be the last year I staff most anime conventions. I say “most” because I’ll still likely do AOD no matter what, but Fanime, Anime Expo, etc. are starting to feel more like a chore and less enjoyable. I used to go to conventions to see people, and now most of the people I’m going to see are working in the same department as me and I can just as easily stay at home and get my three day weekends back.<\/lj-cut text=\"Other stuff\"><\/p>\n
