{"id":475,"date":"2004-02-11T14:54:00","date_gmt":"2004-02-11T22:54:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/hamusutaa.com\/blog\/?p=475"},"modified":"2004-02-11T14:54:00","modified_gmt":"2004-02-11T22:54:00","slug":"modern-technology","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.hamusutaa.com\/blog\/2004\/02\/11\/modern-technology\/","title":{"rendered":"Modern technology."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>After marvelling at the relative ease at how quickly I was able to pick up a package at the FedEx facility last night, just by them scanning the bar code on the door tag they left, I marvelled at how easy computers have made the shipping business.<\/p>\n<p>Today, I found out that UPS had accidentally shipped my <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thinkgeek.com\/\">thinkgeek.com<\/a> order to Sunnyvale, <i>TEXAS<\/i>.  The order has my address correct, this was UPS&#8217;s mistake.  Now I have to wait even longer for my cube toys.  Technology is a two-edged sword.<\/p>\n<p>On a related, but completely tangential note, I forgot to mention that the Albertson&#8217;s grocery nearest our house where I do all my shopping has gotten the self-checkout installed.
