At one point, it asks for the phone number in question, and it says &#8220;please wait while we check our system.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>About fifteen seconds later it says &#8220;We have determined a problem with the Pacific Bell network.  A technician does not need to be sent out to your location.  Your phone service will be fixed between now and.. 3:45 pm&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>If they can automatically determine that something&#8217;s wrong&#8230; and automatically assign someone to fix it&#8230; <i>why can&#8217;t they automatically figure out that it&#8217;s broken!?<\/i><\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve got so much crap to do today, and I was just now called and I have to do something for work that involves me going into work.  Ironically, I was already planning on going into work today&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Weekend?
